Denise Macalino - user experience designer ✏️ world backpacker πŸ›« and amateur baker 🧁

I’m a Product Designer that has been driven by solving complex problems for missions with a purpose to increase access for people. From making healthcare more accessible to increasing financial literacy to integrating the public library to the digital sphere, I am always looking to use design to serve communities.

My principles as a designer are:

  • 🦻🏽 Accessibility: Designing for the edge case makes design better for everyone. Accessibility is about more than WCAAG compliance, but understanding the multitude of users we are serving

  • πŸ“Š Data-driven design: Quantitative design is overlooked in design, and I am on a mission to focus on larger data sets to infer behaviour patterns rather than take a few user statements to direct a design project

  • 🎨 Co-creation: Design with and not for users - it’s the best way to learn their problems and needs in depth.

My goal as a UX designer is to keep humans at the centre of technology and technological innovation.
